More Luxury Stuff In The Porsche Cayenne S Platinum Edition
Porsche currently works on an all-new Cayenne. However, before it sees the sun at the Frankfurt Motor Show later this year, the Stuttgart-based manufacturer freshened up the second-gen model with a Platinum Edition. We have seen the Platinum Edition before, but it was only available with the diesel and with the hybrid engine. Now, this stuff reached the Cayenne S as well.
Under the Platinum Edition nameplate, a number of different options hide. Among other stuff, these include eight-way powered sports seats from the GTS, adaptive bi-xenon headlights, massive 21-inch Sport Edition wheels, wheel arches finished in the same color as the rest of the body.
The car is finished in Rhodium Silver, Mahogany, Jet Black, Purpurite, and Carrara White. Moving to the technology and cosmetic features, the Platinum Edition gets adorned with heated seats, PCM infotainment, Bose surround sound system, all around parking sensors, automatically dimming mirrors and fancy analog clock on the dash. And yes, welcome a whole lot of interesting Platinum Edition badges.
Based on top of the Cayenne S, this luxury SUV comes with a 3.6-liter biturbo V6 developing 420hp and 405 lb-ft of torque. Diesel available too. In Europe that is. 4.2-liter V8 TDI with 385 hp and a massive 627 lb-ft of torque.
In the US, the Cayenne starts at $60 grand. Platinum Edition fetching a price at a tad more than $65 grand. A lot of value for sure. True, the one that goes for $65,600 comes with a V6 good for 300hp. Expect much more for the one with the new engine.
