Happy Birthday To Cadillac and Their CTS-V Glacier Metallic Edition
One of the most iconic American car companies celebrates its 115th birthday this year. This is quite an achievement, wouldn’t you say? To celebrate the occasion, Cadillac released something rather cool – an all-new version of the CTS-V. This is the 2018 Cadillac CTS-V Glacier Metallic Edition:
A car so bright you’ll need shades to stare at it.
It’s a cool piece of machinery powerfully standing at the top-end of the super saloon food chain. It’s certainly earned its place there too, with its 640 hp Supercharged V8.
2018 Cadillac CTS-V Glacier Metallic Edition Sells For More
Now honestly, Cadillac didn’t quite go all in with this celebration…at least, not yet. The most important novelty may well be the new Glacier Metallic paint job. Sure, it looks white, tastes white, smells white, feels white and sounds white, so it’s white, right? Not according to Cadillac. No, Cadillac claims this car is light gray.
I guess I don’t really care what color it is as long as it hauls ass, so whatever.
Nevertheless, the car itself received a number of impressive additions which dramatically hyped up its price point. While the entry level model costs $88,290, the 2018 Cadillac CTS-V Glacier Metallic Edition is going to run you $103,885.
Additions include 19-inch polished aluminum wheels with Midnight Silver–painted accents, the Carbon Fiber package, and the Luxury package.
As you may already be aware, the Carbon Fiber package includes a carbon splitter, hood vent, spoiler, and diffuser. Inside, the additions include fine Jet Black Recaro sports seats and a standard Performance Data Recorder.
Nothing Special Besides Rarity
So what really gets us here is that all things considered, this car is identical to every other CTS-V out there. Apart from a fancy coat of paint and a nameplate reading “X of 115”, you really aren’t getting anything for that extra few thousand dollars. The options aren’t unique, the paint is a lie and who the hell celebrates their 115th birthday anyway? I say after 100, we count by 25-year increments, so that way we don’t have to deal with the 116th birthday edition Escalade next year.
