First Good Real Life Look: Tesla Model 3 Spotted

Tesla Model 3 spotted and reservations continue to grow

Tesla Model 3 will be unveiled in July. However, as Elon Musk reported, the company will totally forgo beta testing and move directly to the production of early-release cars, we can expect to see some of them on the roads. And that is exactly what happened a week ago at Cupertino, California. Reddit user gamerfreak4life uploaded some pictures of the white Tesla Model 3 which looks like a production ready car. Yes, Tesla Model 3 spotted, finally.

While the Tesla Model 3 may be months away from the release, photographs we have here reveal the car is in its final stages of development. Note that LED rear lights which look more like production units and not something you would expect on a concept car. Nevertheless, the Tesla Model 3 spotted in public carries white color and, it seems, has top notch trim package. After all, Elon Musk did report that even people could buy the cheapest Tesla Model 3 for less than $35 grand, almost all opted for loaded versions. In this case, average selling price of the Tesla Model 3 cars is closer to $50k.

Reservations for the car still grow

We do remember that the Tesla Model 3 did become one of the most sought after products in history right after introduction. More than 350,000 units have been ordered in a few days following the release. Now, however, Tesla reports that Model 3 reservations continue to climb. Elon Musk actually said that the reservation continues to climb despite the fact that they do not advertise the car in any way.

Answering the question about the number of reservations made, Elon Musk said:

“No [we will not release the number of reservation]. Here’s the problem. If we do that, then people run off and make all sorts of conclusions based on that, that really have — that are not predictive of the future. Because there are no — you can’t test drive a Model 3. If you come to [Tesla stores] and you want to buy a Model 3, we — you might either buy a Model S or X instead. We anti-sell the Model 3. But I mean, that’s reservations continue to climb week after week. No advertising, anti-selling, nothing to test drive, still grows every week.”

Obviously, Tesla may have a big issue on its hands right now. We will see how will it all pan out in the future.

About Safet Satara

I do not have spare time. All there is is car time. 12 years and counting. I am a Central European gearhead, but you are probably thinking - aaa a disposable Borg drone! Well, actually, I like to dress up like James Bond too. The only thing I need to be him is an Aston Martin (and I love DBS more than DB5 because, reasons). That's something I guess.
