Challenger SRT Hellcat Owner Arrested For Speeding

Police clocked the Hellcat At 158 mph

Ok, we get it – you got yourself a cool car and you want to show off in front of your friends. All cool, except you should never ever do that on public roads. That is what the tracks and track days are for. If not then get ready to be arrested.

So, a new Challenger SRT Hellcat owner – Chicago resident Christopher Garza, was doing just that – showing off the might of his 707hp machine on the Indiana Toll Road. Yes, that road is ALWAYS patrolled by at least one really angry police officer. And not only that, he did the speed run in the middle of the night. When no one was actually on the road. Smart, from a safety standpoint, but dumb if you don’t want to be caught by the police. As he was the only and the prime target of the patrol vehicle it was not long after his run that the officers caught up with him. And arrested him for his behavior.

Hellcat Owner Arrested After Two Radar Guns Clocking It At 150+mph

See, massively powerful Challenger Hellcat can easily develop some insane speeds. According to a police report and Fox24 News, police clocked Garza doing 158 mph and only moments after, the second car clocked him at 151 mph. Enough for arrest for sure.

Now, Garza actually noticed officers and the police car when he passed the second radar gun and he started decelerating violently. Interestingly enough, Garza was more than cooperative and honest with his dealing with the police. He even told them that he “wanted to show his friends what his 707 horsepower engine could do.”

So, instead of tempting fate by doing insanely fast passes on the highway, fast car owners should book a track or a drag strip to show off their vehicle on the ultimate fight ground. Driving irresponsibly can get you in jail. And very fast too.

About Safet Satara

I do not have spare time. All there is is car time. 12 years and counting. I am a Central European gearhead, but you are probably thinking - aaa a disposable Borg drone! Well, actually, I like to dress up like James Bond too. The only thing I need to be him is an Aston Martin (and I love DBS more than DB5 because, reasons). That's something I guess.
