The release of a new Fast and Furious film is undeniably an exciting occasion, largely because these films often leave viewers in awe over exactly how they’re achieved. It’s often the case in Fast and Furious films, including the upcoming release of Furious 8 that we see cars flying through mid-air. But how is this achieved? We’ve taken a behind the scenes look at the making of the new Fast and Furious film, ahead of its release next year.
There’s been plenty of footage released around the upcoming film, showing what the crew have been up to whilst filming the next release in the series. In fact, filming for Furious 8 has seen the crew headed to a number of glamorous locations across the glove, including staging drag races in Cuba and ripping around Iceland. However, this week’s preview sees the crew filming in an altogether location.
Cleveland, Ohio is the location where the crew of Furious 8 headed to film some of those momentous stunts that the series is known for. It’s become paramount of the series for vehicles to regularly fall out of buildings from a great height and that certainly looks to be the case with this film, as Cleveland is used as a stand-in New York of sorts.
A number of vehicles were seen involved in shooting this particular scene, including a Volkswagen Transporter, Fiat 500 Abarth and a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The crew of Furious 8 are definitely using a stellar line-up of cars for their stellar stunts.
