858-HP Audi-Powered Mini Can Be Yours For $41,000

A John Cooper Works GP is always up for grabs if thoughts of getting a hardcore Mini start creeping in. Compared to the regular JCW, it offers much more stiffness and is also much lower, delivering an exceptional on-track experience. Unfortunately, this car model is hard to come by. Offering excellent speed performance, you might say it’s everything that you dream of in a Mini, but you might consider revising those thoughts if you were to put it up against this 858 horsepower custom-built Mini Quattro which for reasons beyond explanation, is up for sale.

Speedhunter features this project some years back when it was powered by a 1999 Audi A3 engine making only 450 horsepower.  However, a 450 horsepower won’t do the trick if you’re willing to go above and beyond to get a custom fiberglass body to transition seamlessly into a tube-frame chassis. The custom-built Mini features an Audi inline-five that provides almost twice the power of the old engine.

If you think it’s a front-wheel drive, scratch that thought. The car operates on an Audi all-wheel-drive system which is where it derives its name from. It also comes with a six-speed manual transmission. You can make it yours for $41,000.
