The 2015 Volvo XC60. Hybrid Extraordinaire.
Good Afternoon, and welcome to another installment of Gearheads.org. In today’s news reputable Swedish Company Volvo has made an announcement of a new and more than welcomed style of hybrid SUV. As we already know Volvo has always, always, always, been about safety, and now, with their introduction of the 2015 Volvo XC60 Plug-in Hybrid bigger and better things are sure to come. The 2015 Volvo XC60 Plug-in Hybrid is a new style of SUV that will yield a few options as far as fuel saving is concerned.
This new XC60 will come with more economy saving tech than Best Buy, & Ebay put together. The XC60 has a Lithium-Ion battery cell for ALL Electric (Pure) driving, a 2.0L, four (4) cylinder turbo charged engine, that’s pushing out a respectable 280hp for more spirited (Power) driving, and a 70hp electric motor as a back up to both the gas & battery sources (Hybrid). Now before we go any further, I know I just shoved a whole bunch of info down your throats, so let me take a minute to clarify. The 280hp gas motor will give you that extra boost we all want when driving. Option two comes in with using the Lithium-Ion battery, which will provide the clean & Pure driving of an emissions free vehicle. To back both of these sources a 70hp motor has the ability to provide some extra torque when needed. So are we on the same page now?
The 2015 Volvo XC60 will encompass all aspects of hybrid driving technology, along side with Volvo’s patented safety features. Reversing cameras, full curtain airbags, reinforced frame work, are all on board for the XC60, as usual. A new touch screen will be incorporated into the dash, the normal Blu-tooth, WiFi, Sirius Radio, infotainment will be considered as the development winds down, as Volvo gets closer to a finalized production date. The 2015 Volvo XC60 Plug-in Hybrid, is still wrapping up its real world testing, and while doing so has procured a few record numbers for a vehicle of its size. Zero to sixty times of 6.1 seconds, and a top speed of 135mph. Of course this in full Power mode, meaning gas & electric motors pushing and pulling the XC60 down the road. This new XC60 has what it takes to do a few things in the hybrid market. One, it’s a Full Powered SUV, with awesome gas mileage, and range. Two, the All Out Safety Volvo has been always known for. Three, the driving options of three different type of cars, all wrapped up in one great package. So in about two years, or less this vehicle will hit the showroom floors, and become the next big thing as far, as hybrids go.
