The 2014 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

Jeep looks to add a 7-seater based on the Durango

With the overall popularity of the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Grand Cherokee it looks as though the Chrysler group will be adding the 2014 Jeep Grand Wagoneer to the lineup as it hopes to boost sales of their full-size SUV lineup. For me the 2011 Dodge Durango was a well sculpted machine but if sales has not been as popular as the Chrysler group had hoped. Since Jeep is going strong these days Chrysler plans to capitalize on the brand and reintroduce Jeep’s big brother. The Jeep Wagoneer was a staple for the company under the AMC days as it went from 1963 to 1991 with little overall changes. I remember seeing Jeep Wagoneers all over the place as it was pretty much the standard family truckster in every 1980s movie. So what will be different about the 2014 Jeep Wagoneer?

2014 Jeep Wagoneer Engines

First off I highly doubt there’ll be a wood-sided edition for 2014, but we will see more focus on efficiency. With Café standards on the rise and more buyers looking for efficiency we should see a couple tricks up Chrysler’s sleeve for this Jeep. The base model 2014 Jeep Grand Wagoneer will more than likely be fitted with the Pentastar high output V6 producing around 300 hp and possibly mated to the 8-HP 8-speed automatic transmission. We will also see a V8 although it is unclear if it will be the 5.7 L HEMI as Chrysler might be working on a direct injected V8 that offers higher compression ratios. This too would also more than likely be mated to the 8-speed automatic transmission. This will more than likely give the 2014 Jeep Grand Wagoneer closer to 28-30 miles per gallon.

2014 Jeep Wagoneer Price

It looks as though we will see similar interior options to the Durango as it will have seating for seven as well as a built-in entertainment center option. The price will also be similar to the Durango as it will start off under $30,000 but with options I’m sure he can reach well above $40,000. Word on the street is that there might possibly be a 2014 Jeep grand Wagoneer diesel option which would be a smart choice as it would deliver superior mileage if connected to the 8-speed automatic as well as plenty of torque. As a get more information on the 2014 Jeep Wagoneer will be sure to post it up. Any questions then feel free to write to us in the comment section below.
