Mid-Engine Chevrolet Corvette C8 Rendering
After spying on the prototype of the new C8 Chevy Corvette in September, it was revealed that the model was going to come with a mid-engine. This makes the front of the car shorter than the C7 model which is soon going to be released in January in Detroit. It also elongates the rear section to give room for the engine. The Corvette C8 codenamed “Emperor” comes with a sloped roofline design that gives it an aggressive look which qualifies it to be called a supercar.
The vehicle maintains its originality of carrying the quad taillight setup while at the same time introducing wider fenders to its make-up. The C8Corvette C8 is believed to be powered by the brand new “LT5” biturbo V8 engine generating 700 horsepower. This means that the engine will be 50 horsepower stronger than the LT4 supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that powers the Corvette Z06. The LT5 biturbo will also be used for The Corvette C7 ZR1.
The next generation Corvette can come with the new 7-speed dual clutch transmission and it’s expected to perform very good because it is equipped with active aero bits. The mid-engine C8 is meant to sell several months later in 2019 after making its world premiere at 2018 NAIAS.
