Attention Gearheads – It’s Time To Drift Into Springtime
For most of us auto enthusiasts, we have spent countless hours cooped up in our dwellings with the walls quickly closing in as we wait for springtime to arrive. We have to find alternate means of dealing with our addiction during the winter months whether it be playing racing games, wrenching on our winter project, or going to an indoor go-kart track. All of these are great to do but are like methadone to a heroin addict. They are simply just a substitute for the real deal. I personally fought with my “gear head” addiction when I was drying out my winter boots and accidently melted some rubber. The smell of this burnt rubber was so intoxicating that I went into a blind rage and had to be brought down with a fire poker. But soon the roads will be clear of snow, ice and rust inducing salt and then my friends it is time to release the pack of horses.
Some of us have been spending sleepless nights building up our cars by shopping online for parts. We have shopping carts at the ready with everything picked out and we are just waiting for the tax return check or for a family member to die in order to gain the necessary cheese to finish the order. Other individuals are mocking up their rides through the interactive websites for new cars. Surprisingly we have a plethora of sporty vehicles to choose from this year.
2014 sport cars are looking to be a solid selection of vehicles that can help fill that void left by addiction. As we have seen by some of the most prominent players such as the 2014 Corvette and Scion FR-S and Subaru BR-Z’s. These three vehicles (more like two) will be hot ticket items and look to be well worth their price tags. Since most of us only get the luxury of one car ownership means that we damn sure better make it a good one. The $20k range is fun and impressive as you have newer cars such as the 2014 Dodge Dart GT, Mazda6 and The Fiat Abarth, sure these are front wheel drive so you will have to drift with the e-brake or steal some food trays to place under the back tires. But hey it’s all about fun and these will be a great start.
The $25k range of sport cars for 2014 is unbelievably good with car options. From the FR-S Scion and BR-Z Subaru to the Hyundai Genesis Coupe, Ford Mustang and Focus ST. Sure the Focus ST is also front-wheel-drive but it actually comes out of the corners with over-steer which adds a little drift to your cornering and 270 lb-ft of torque makes things pretty fun. There of course is also the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger that will need to be picked up before the next phase design change comes soon.
These of course are just a few examples of all the amazing fun you can have this spring as you work on the delicate balance of shaking that cars ass end around and a “P.A.W.G”. But to get these cars that have this much fun on tap as well as a warranty to boot means that you can finally learn to drive a manual so your friends will stop laughing at you and will also keep stupid car thieves from trying to steal your car.
