Attack of the Greasy Italians
Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Dodge, Chrysler, Ram, SRT, and Mopar all have a favor to repay the Don
First the influx of Fiat was seen with the Chrysler deal and as my psychic friends/pot dealer counselor stated, Alfa Romeo would soon follow along. We are seeing an influx of vehicles that are looking to come straight from the old country and with them come a plethora of small vehicles that will help Chrysler regain a mark in the small cars that don’t suck category. If it was the Fiat and Alfa Romeo of only a few years ago I would be hesitant of these marinara shit-boxes coming to shore but as I looked at the boring designs of the American market and the acid-trip designs coming from Korea and Japan, I see that the designs are fresh and the reliability is better.
But today these vehicles are coming with that Italian style and helping reshape the box on wheels concept that just made American cars continue on a path of boredom. As these vehicles like the Fiat 500 and the upcoming Alfa Romeo 4C hit the market we will see Fiat dealerships starting to place an Alfa Romeo sign next to the Fiat emblem making for a dealership full of goodfellas. There will be several vehicles being introduced with these companies and will be interesting how many vehicles push onto the American market as the European and especially the Italian auto market is shit right now.
There is a very uneasy 800lb Pavarotti in the room for when it comes to European auto manufacturers as their vehicles are starting to fill up the holding lots like a game of high level Tetris whenever you fail to hit pause on your piss break. The good news is that enough college girls and Peace Corps retirees are falling in love with the little Italy (Fiat 500). We know that Alfa Romeo is getting the chassis’s for their 4C concept from the next generation Mazda MX-5 and will likely have the 2.0 L Tigershark engine. This 2014 Alfa Romeo 4C Coupe and Convertible will likely start around 25K and be a main competitor to the Subaru BR-Z and FR-S. So look for Scion to awake in bed with an engine head leaking oil as a sign that Alfa Romeo has arrived.
