2013 Suzuki Kizashi – A Nice Spin on a Midsize Sedan
Take one look at the 2013 Suzuki Kizashi and it is apparent that Suzuki is trying to foray their way into creating more modern looking cars. This vehicle is designed to compete in the mid-size sedan class alongside competitors such as the Nissan Altima and the Honda Accord. Is it a successful endeavor, or should Suzuki head back to the drawing board?
Under the Hood
The most important part of the car for enthusiasts, no doubt, is located under the hood. Here, with the 2013 Suzuki Kizashi, you will find a 2.4L engine with an output of 180 Horsepower – if you get the six-speed manual transmission (and why wouldn’t you?) you get 185HP.
You can choose between front wheel and all-wheel drive on all of the 2013 Suzuki Kizashi trims. Standard with the vehicle is a fully independent suspension, but those who crave more can opt to get the lowered sport suspension on theirs.
Looking at the Exterior
If you paid attention when the concept for the Kizashi was revealed at auto shows, you will notice that the front end design has been scaled back and is not as daring as it was portrayed. This is unfortunate, because I feel that Suzuki could afford to be more daring and with the introduction of the 2013 Suzuki Kizashi, this would have been their perfect opportunity. Alas, it was not meant to be and we are left with a grille that appears to be a replica of those on other Suzuki vehicles. The only exception to this is its very unique looking rear. The entire trunk lid seems to come together to form that look of a solid spoiler.
Sport models, however, offer a more muscular look to them and also feature a rear spoiler (because no sports car is complete without one).
Other exterior features that you will notice on the 2013 Suzuki Kizashi include standard 16” wheels with the option to upgrade to 18” wheels, your standard headlights, and the option to add on a power moon roof. In addition, some models come with add-on options of rain-sensing wipers or rear parking sensors that alert you to an oncoming impact.
Interior Features
Trying to keep up with the Jones’, the 2013 Kizashi comes with several standard features including a tilt and telescopic steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, keyless remote entry and the capability of adding on USB connectivity ports.

Safety is Important Too
Because safety is important as well, the 2013 Suzuki Kizashi features several standard airbags including side impact and curtain airbags for both the front and rear seats. Anti-lock brakes are standard as is its electronic stability system.
The Final Verdict?
If you are looking for options and add-ons, you are probably better choosing from the Nissan, Toyota and Honda mid-size vehicles rather than the Kizashi. If you are on a budget and concerned about fuel consumption, however, the 2013 Suzuki Kizashi will fare quite nicely – it is an attractive vehicle.
