2013 Lexus will see a big year in the Lexus Hybrid and redesign lineup
For some the thought of the 2013 Lexus lineup is not exactly the most exciting news. I on the other hand look forward as 2013 looks to be a big year for the company. Let’s start from the smallest of the line up being the 2014 Lexus CT 200h being Lexus Hybrid version of urban petite luxury and will work to show good mileage and make it a luxury hatchback wagon thing. This is also a model for Lexus’s new initiative to draw in younger buyers. Next we have the newest Lexus IS too late. With the new Lexus IS will have is more than likely the same lineup plus an IS Lexus Hybrid which is coming due for a design change. It may actually be marked as a 2014 Lexus IS if released. We will likely see an IS 250h, IS 250, IS 350, and IS-F and a front grill and fascia that resembles the lines of the 2013 Lexus GS.
What’s the scoop for mid-size to larger redesigned Lexus sedans?
The 2013 Lexus ES will be due for some redesign but since this is a good seller for older buyers Lexus has the option to keep it conservative and continue with the AARP customers or try its hand at a more desirable car for the young whippersnappers. We also see a similar Lexus Hybrid system coming into the Lexus ES lineup. A Lexus ES Hybrid will likely share basically the same as the Lexus GS and will work to deliver some impressive MPG’s you know for getting to the early bird special on a fixed income. Next up is the rumor of the Lexus SC 2014 that will be a coupe to contend with Ze Germans and their crazy coupes. This would be good news to me because I happen to love coupes and for Lexus to work on a 2014 Lexus Convertible or Spyder as well as an SC-F that would use a detuned V-10 from the LFA would be awesome but doubtful. For some reason many journalists believe that the LFA V-10 will be used in another F-series Lexus and possibly the Lexus LF Gh which would put it in the M5 and AMG range. If that is the case than wait and listen for what will sound like a Formula 1 car that’s ass is on fire screaming into a megaphone because that exhaust note will wake the dead with that sinister pitch.
I want luxury and a yacht on land that gets good MPG’s
The 2014 Lexus LS is due for a change and that is making a lot of well paid people very anxious. I love the current LS and its looks and think it is right for the market it is built to fulfill. With the Lexus LS as the flagship look to see some innovative technology such as a mistress escape capsule and “gold-digger” detection and aversion system as well as a Lexus Hybrid system for this too. This should make for a pretty refreshed 2013 Lexus lineup and will possibly see some more goodies that are kept hidden at the moment.
